PROJECT‘Houselet’ Addition
AIA Virginia Small Projects Award 2025
This ground up addition added a new first floor primary suite to a c. 1935 home in West Richmond. Large south-facing clerestory windows, as well as floor to ceiling windows and a continuous glass corner window allow plenty of light, and give the space an open & airy feeling. The space includes a spacious curbless shower, thoughtful built in storage, a walk-in dressing area, and a bedroom with views of the beautiful green space at the rear of the property. The exterior is clad in custom-milled shiplap siding with a continuous fascia, and has a hand-seamed metal roof with built in gutters.
